ADOLESCENT SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
ABOUT ADOLESCENT SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
This initiative is aimed at empowering young people to be able to lead healthy lifestyles and make informed choices pertaining their reproductive health and lives. It is through youth network formation and advocacy that young people are engaged in sexual reproductive health activities. Young people are trained in sexual reproductive health rights and life skills and actively engaged through sports, drama, song, poetry and distribution of IEC material. Mentorship remains part of our SRH programs and helps close monitoring of youths to be done. Furthermore, the organisation trains frontline health staff in standards of providing youth friendly services and goes on to facilitate establishment of Youth Friendly Corners. Parents and the community are engaged in intergenerational dialogues to bridge the existing gap in parent to child communication about SRH issues. The model thus focuses on the youth, the community and the health facility.
